Making Sacred Hearts
Like all of my printed designs, the Sacred Hearts started off as an illustration.
Pencilled, penned, & scanned, I then sent the drawings off to the die-makers to construct a magnesium printing plate. This plate slots in to a heated machine - mine's called Jolene - to press sheets of gold on to laser-cut shapes, creating the starburst frames.
I then assemble these with a sturdy back panel, & a padded centre in leather or cotton velvet, and hang from gold plated chains & hooks.
